To be more specific, the genre of the film can be said to be a sort of Dark Comedy/ Historical Narrative/ Action/ Western/ Horror film. The film is intentionally campy with plenty of comedy, large characters and over the top gory violence. The short synopsis of the film is this... In the horrors of the post apocalyptic future, several groups of the criminally insane converge at the Threshold of Hell to engage in violent conflict in order to win control of the New America. The larger explanation of the film goes something like this...

PROLOGUE

In the middle of the 2060s, a bomb has dropped upon the United States leaving it's borders a wasteland. Slowly, throughout the film, we get a view of what life was like for the few hundred thousand men and women who managed to escape the radiation in underground bunkers where they were to remain for over two decades...

Communication to the underground bunkers was sent through gamma radios that had to be intercepted and re broadcast as it carried it's way throughout America. At the center of these broadcasts, somewhere on the west coast, is Clark Remington, aging self appointed King of America.

With no other leadership or word from the outside world, the underground inhabitants hung to every precious declaration from Remington until it became a sort of gospel to them. After twenty years of underground life, as the time to reenter the surface neared, Remington announced that the successor to King of the outside world would be Benny Remington, Clark's nephew who is bunkered underground thousands of miles away on the northwest coast of what was once Florida. This news greatly upsets Clark's only son Vincent Remington who had thought to be the heir to the throne. Eighteen months before the emergence to the surface, Clark Remington died, Vincent changed his name to Mr. Jackal, and the great struggle for control of new America began...

So, a deadly race across the country began, because all involved understood that power lied thousands of miles away on the Florida coast. Because, they all knew, not far from the legendary bunker of Benny Remington was a much more notorious legend... The Threshold Of Hell.

THE THRESHOLD OF HELL

The Threshold of Hell resides, geographically, in a relatively small area of Northwest Florida around the fallen city of Pensacola. During the demise of the U.S. and its aftermath, this small collection of acreage seemed untouched by the destruction. It's inhabitants, a group of strange individuals known as the Children of the Second Sun, not only seem unaffected by the radiation, but became, in a way, super human, as they are invulnerable to bodily injury and never age.

It has been told that, upon the grounds of the Threshold of Hell is the world's largest gamma radio capable of reaching the farthest boundaries of the United States in real time as opposed to the inconsistent retransmissions that limited the communication of Clark Remington. It is said that this radio is the only tool capable of uniting the nation and whoever controls the radio, controls America. Thus the race to find a leader and reach the radio has become Shakespearean in its scope. Reaching the radio has proved extremely difficult, the people of the Threshold of Hell have become fiercely territorial knowing that any outsider who enters the area is a threat to their utopian society. Outsiders entering the area around the Threshold of Hell are generally found brutally murdered. As the legend of the this place grew, and the rumors spread, the area got it's name "The Threshold of Hell", because of the horrors found there.

And So, in BRIEF

We join Tex Kennedy, descendant of two U.S. presidents, (John F. Kennedy 1961- 1963 and Barney Kennedy 2048- 2050) in Florida. Tex, an avid follower and believer in Clark Remington, knows that in order for the new America to succeed, Clark's dying wishes must be honored and young Benny Remington must be brought to power. Knowing the dangers both facing Benny and himself, Tex travels with two robot secret service agents Quincy and Yul, and a powerful caged female cannibal named Sue. They make their way, on foot, across 3,000 miles of wasteland America from what was once California to what was once Florida. Along the way they encounter opposition, often leading to blood and gore. Their goal in sight, they reluctantly enter the vicinity of the Threshold of Hell to find Benny Remington before anyone else does.

Throughout the film's following events, Tex and his small clan must face obstacle after obstacle including many near death episodes. They do in fact reach Benny Remington and make their way to the heart of the Threshold of Hell. Having come so far they can taste victory and the establishment of the new US government. Once there however, they realize their troubles are only beginning. They must face the homicidal Mr. Jackal and his team of expendable mercenaries, a mysterious tracker named Thorn, the great, great, great, great, great grandson of Fidel Castro, the powerful and invincible Children of the Second Sun, a giant radiated sea snake, a seemingly subservient Arizonan with deadly plans of his own, and the leader of The Threshold of Hell who is thought to be none other than the devil himself.

OUR MISSION

The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell was written as the first part of a three film trilogy entitled The Threshold of Hell centered on the events that shape America's sociology and mythology in the post apocalyptic future. The film is taken as a historic re telling of the lives of the great fore fathers of the new United States much the same way as if it were being told about Thomas Jefferson and the events centered around the Declaration of Independence and birth of a new nation. However, the tone of the film is that of extremes and larger than life legends.

The goal of the film's creation is to take risks, create something new, and still leave a strong mark of intelligence in the face of the electric violent energy of the story. I want the film to be kinetic, smart, funny, violent and most of all fun. I want the film to never drop its momentum and I want to present audiences with something they have never seen before. The cast is a group of classically trained established comic actors from New York and Los Angeles. The script, though fully written, will employ a large amount of improvisation and collaboration with all the great minds involved. This is the first filmed collaboration with some of entertainment's brightest new minds and we feel that with an uncompromised, fearless pursuit we can create something new and great.
